Greater London House, Carreras Cigarette Factory, Large Art Deco Building
First Call were contracted to carry out the exterior lighting installation for this iconic building in the heart of London, we worked alongside the lighting design company Swann Lighting to achieve the most impressive lighting of any building in London. The project required some difficult high level electrical works requiring fully trained IPAF and abseiling engineers. The light fitting are energy efficient LED with combined photo sensitive and digital time clock controlled switching.
The Carreras Cigarette Factory is a large art deco building in Camden, London. It is noted as a striking example of early 20th Century Egyptian Revival architecture. The building was erected in 1926-28 by the Carreras Tobacco Company owned by the Russian-Jewish inventor and philanthropist Bernhard Baron on the communal garden area of Mornington Crescent, to a design by architects M.E and O.H Collins and A.G Porri. The structure is over 550 feet long.
